What the lower rate means for a homeowner
The adopted city rate is $0.356505 per $100 of taxable value. The previous rate was $0.363550, a difference of $0.007045 per $100, or approximately 1.94%. For example, a property with $240,000 in taxable value would generate about $855.61 in city taxes at the new rate, compared with $872.52 at the previous rate. A lower city rate does not guarantee a lower total property tax bill.
