LEAGUE CITY, Texas — League City Police Officer Daniel Echeverria has been recognized as the department’s Officer of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2026, earning the honor for what department leaders described as proactive police work, professionalism, leadership and a team-first mentality.
Captain Lee recently presented Echeverria with the department’s Officer of the Quarter Award.
A Busy Quarter on Patrol
According to the League City Police Department, Echeverria ranked second departmentwide with 865 documented activities during the quarter.
Those activities included 429 calls for service and 20 arrests.
The department highlighted one traffic stop in particular, saying Echeverria’s proactive enforcement led to the arrest of a convicted felon who was unlawfully possessing a loaded firearm.
Police also credited his work with providing assistance to a larger narcotics investigation involving local and county authorities.
Leadership Beyond Patrol
Echeverria’s contributions extend beyond traditional patrol duties.
According to LCPD, he leads weekly Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training sessions designed to improve officer safety and preparedness.
Defensive tactics training can play an important role in helping officers manage physical encounters while maintaining control and reducing injury risk.
The department also announced that Echeverria was recently selected to serve on the League City Police Department SWAT Team.

Public-safety coverage often focuses on arrests, investigations and emergency incidents, but awards such as Officer of the Quarter offer residents another look at the people behind the department.
