League City’s 70th Annual Village Fair Wraps Up Today With Easton Corbin, Family Fun and a Full Day of Music
LEAGUE CITY, Texas — One of League City’s longest-running community traditions reaches a milestone Saturday as the 70th Annual Village Fair & Music Festival closes out its anniversary weekend with a full day of live music, family activities, food and local vendors.
The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, October 3 at The Ballpark at League City, 1150 Ballpark Way, with country artist Easton Corbin scheduled to headline the final night.
Seven Decades of a League City Tradition
Hosted by the League City Lions Club, the Village Fair has been bringing residents together for generations while also serving as an important fundraiser for the organization’s charitable work.
The City of League City is sponsoring this year’s event, and proceeds from the festival help the Lions Club support organizations and service projects locally and beyond the League City area.
This year’s 70th anniversary celebration began Friday evening and continues throughout Saturday, combining a music festival with many of the family-friendly attractions residents have come to associate with the Village Fair.
Easton Corbin Headlines Saturday’s Music Lineup
Saturday’s entertainment includes a broad mix of local musicians, tribute acts and country music.
The scheduled lineup includes School of Rock, Rock N Classic, the League City Folk Association, A-Sure Thing, Big Jordan and Night Bird, a Fleetwood Mac tribute act.
The evening culminates with country singer Easton Corbin, whose tour schedule lists his League City Village Fair appearance for 7 p.m. Saturday.
Corbin is known for songs including “A Little More Country Than That,” “Roll With It” and “All Over the Road.” His appearance gives League City residents an opportunity to see a nationally touring country performer without leaving the city.
Plenty to Do Beyond the Music
The Village Fair is designed as more than a concert. Families can expect a vendor market, food and drinks along with activities geared toward younger visitors.
Organizers have promoted attractions including a Kids Zone, foam parties, a petting zoo, mini golf, Singo Bingo and the Sunset Bazaar vendor fair.
That makes Saturday an option for residents who want to spend only a few hours at the fair as well as those planning to stay through the evening concert.
Admission and Location
Admission at the gate is $15 for adults ages 18 and older and $7.50 for children ages 2 through 17. Toddlers and babies are admitted free.
The Ballpark at League City is located at 1150 Ballpark Way.
Gates are scheduled to remain open until 10 p.m.
One Weekend Event Has Been Rescheduled
Residents looking at older versions of League City’s October event calendar should also be aware of one schedule change.
Shakespeare in the Park will not take place Saturday night. The City announced October 1 that the performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream has been rescheduled to Saturday, November 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. at League Park.
The free performance by members of Clear Creek Community Theatre is part of League City’s Public Art Initiative.
A Big Saturday in League City
With the Village Fair celebrating its 70th year, Saturday offers residents a chance to take part in a tradition that has survived decades of League City’s growth and transformation.
Whether the draw is Easton Corbin, local performers, activities for the kids or simply spending a fall Saturday with neighbors, the final day of the Village Fair offers plenty to do close to home.
Talk of League City will continue highlighting events, development, public meetings and community issues affecting League City residents.
